WHAT IS "REEL TALK?"
"REEL TALK" is a community service project centered around aspiring filmmakers. It is our effort to provide a service to the community that we believe will make a difference in the lives of our fellow youth. We are seeking to meet the needs of those in search of industry role models who are willing to provide a road map to a successful life in film. It is our goal to to enlighten, encourage and empower people as they pursue careers in the media.
"REEL TALK" is an artistic experience and in-depth dialogue for individuals, including screenings of movies by various filmmakers; followed by one-on-one facilitated interviews highlighting the filmmaker's insights, experience, expertise and wisdom; ending with the opportunity to ask questions or express concerns about careers in the industry.
It is our goal to create an environment conducive to learning about careers in the film industry, the craft of filmmaking and how to use the media to positively impact society. We look forward to carving out a space where student filmmakers can meet role models; actors can meet directors; directors can meet producers; producers can meet crew staff; and the public can meet those who labor for their entertainment both in front of and behind the camera.
"REEL TALK" is exploring films in order to explore the possibilities.
